FAQs

  • When is the best time to get married?

The best times to get married at Joshua Tree are Spring (March-May) & Fall (September-November. Consequently the whole park is busier during this time, therefore we only perform weddings at Joshua Tree National Park on weekdays and Sundays. This affords you the opportunity to enjoy a quiet wedding.

  • What is the weather like?

The weather is intense! For everyone's health and safety, we do not perform weddings here from June - August. Winter temperatures are around 32°F (0°C) at night and averages of 60°F without wind chill while summers are scorching hot with daytime temperatures around 100°F (37°C) and 65°F (18°C) at night.

  • Is a permit required for wedding at Joshua Tree National Park?

Joshua Tree National Park requires a wedding permit no matter what the size of the ceremony. Our photographer must also obtain a special use permit as well. Permits help the park protect the land and reduces the chance of multiple weddings taking place at the same time/place.

  • Is there cell service in the park?

Cell phone service is nonexistent in the park. Please download the location maps on google for offline use while in the park. Also make sure to download any music you want played while in the park.

  • What do we need to bring to be prepared?

Bring water, comfortable shoes and layers. Consider bringing a bag to hold unused items during your photoshoot. The temperature drops during sunset and there may also be strong winds.

  • What other desert locations are an option?

Consider choosing an Airbnb as your ceremony location. This way getting ready shots are possible before the ceremony.
